Red Gap Wind Farm Community Fund

The wind farm was developed by Airvolution Energy and now managed by Netro Energy. There is approximately £70,000 available per year to give out in grants to projects located within the Borough of Hartlepool.
The Red Gap Wind Farm is owned and managed by Netro Energy Limited (originally developed by Airvolution Energy).
Red Gap Wind Farm has committed over £70,000 per year for community grants.
To qualify for a grant, your project will need to be located within the Borough of Hartlepool. However, priority will be given to applications within the Parishes of Elwick and Dalton Piercy which were the closest Parishes to the wind farm development when it was constructed.
The Fund
The Fund allows groups to apply for grants between £500 and the maximum amount of the annual fund.
There is usually one application round to apply to each year, however there was an additional round in 2024 as all funding was not allocated in the first round. The next deadline is 19 May 2027.

Decisions
Applications will be reviewed by the local Advisory Group that has been established to help decide how the grants will be allocated from the Fund.
The current AG structure is as follows:
- 3 x nominated representatives from Elwick Parish
- 3 x nominated representatives from Dalton Piercy Parish
- 1 x nominated Elected Member representing the Rural West Ward
- 1 x Officer nominated from HBC Regeneration / Community services department
