Hallburn Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

Location:

Parishes of Arthuret, Hethersgill, Kirkandrews-on-Esk, Kirklinton Middle, Nicholforest, Scaleby, Solport, Stapleton and Westlinton.

Total Grants Available:

£66,000 per year

The Fund is open to new applications. There is £66,000 available each year to give out in grants.

Project locations

Projects for which grants are requested must be for the benefit of communities within the Parishes of Arthuret, Hethersgill, Kirkandrews-on-Esk, Kirklinton Middle, Nicholforest, Scaleby, Solport, Stapleton and Westlinton.

There are two application rounds each year to apply to. The next two closing dates for applications are:

Grant Amounts

The Fund allows groups to apply for grants between £250 and £20,000.

Decision Making

Applications are reviewed by a local Advisory Group (AG) that has been established to help decide how the grants will be allocated from the Fund.

The AG comprises:

  • Chair – Cllr John Mallinson (Carlisle City Council)
  • Cllr David Shepherd (Carlisle City Council)
  • TBC (Cumbria County Council)
  • One nominated Parish Councillor from each of the nine parishes, covered by the Fund
