Burbo Bank Extension Community Fund Survey Results Published

dong-logoIn December 2014 DONG Energy made the decision to construct the Burbo Bank Extension off shore wind farm. The site will be located west of the existing Burbo Bank operational wind farm in Liverpool Bay.

Samuel Leupold, Executive Vice President in DONG Energy, said: “I am very pleased that with this final investment decision we can now begin the construction of Burbo Bank Extension which will supply green power to approximately 180,000 UK households.”

Now the decision has been taken to build the wind farm extension DONG Energy has also confirmed its intention to commit to a Community Benefit Fund worth up to £250,000 each year for the lifetime of the Project.

GrantScape has been working with DONG Energy to undertake community consultation to begin to shape the Burbo Bank Extension Community Fund. The first stage of the consultation took the form of a simple online survey which was conducted from May to October 2014. What Happens Next?

GrantScape will be holding a series of local public exhibitions to allow people to find out more about the Fund.

Tuesday, 10th March 2015 (2pm to 7pm) @ The Parade, Hoylake Community Centre


Wednesday, 11th March 2015 (2pm to 7pm) @ Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre

Well in advance of the first event, a map showing the proposed area that will be covered by the Burbo Bank Extension Community Fund will be posted on this website as well as being circulated to all contacts on our distribution list.
