Project: Supporting Vulnerable Families in Kings Lynn and North West Norfolk
Organisation: Home-Start Norfolk
Families across King’s Lynn and West Norfolk have benefited from tailored support designed to improve wellbeing, confidence and early childhood development, thanks to funding from Ørsted’s Hornsea 3 Community Fund.
Delivered by Home-Start Norfolk, the project provided home-based peer support and helped families access other HSN services including community-based “learn through play” sessions, helping parents of children under five build the skills, knowledge and resilience needed to support their children’s development.
At the heart of the project was a personalised approach. Families were matched with trained volunteers who provide one-to-one support for up to six months, building trusted relationships and helping parents develop practical ways to manage the challenges they face.
Alongside this, families were encouraged to take part in group sessions, including Peep learning through play programmes and infant massage classes, helping to reduce isolation and build supportive local networks.
In the past year alone, the overall project has supported 63 families across the region, delivering both home-based and group support.

As a small but impactful charity, we could not continue our crucial work without the support of these grants.” — Caz New, Head of Funding & Development, Home-Start Norfolk
