Eagland Hill Scoops £5,000 Windfall
The windfall of £4,828 has been split between three projects which will see the hamlet decked with bunting during the summer social events, the Old School Room Community Centre kitted out with a new fridge alongside improvements to the outdoor space at the Centre. Recent visitors to the Old School Room may have noticed the outdoor area was looking somewhat neglected – but not for much longer. Landscapers will soon be on site clearing old vegetation and levelling the area to create a community garden space for all to enjoy.
Liz Watson, Chairman, Eagland Hill Community Fund said: “Eagland Hill may be only a small hamlet but the residents are all proud of our sense of community. Working together we have already prepared the back of the Old School Room to ensure that the area can be cleared and once again used by our community and our many visitors.”
Monies for the Community Fund are provided by REG Power Management which operates the Orchard End wind farm. The Fund makes available £16,000 each year split between two funding rounds.
The next funding round is set to be especially exciting as the maximum individual grant amount has just been increased to a huge £8,000.
Carey Green from REG Power Management, said: “We are delighted that the Orchard End Wind Farm Community Fund continues to benefit local communities in the area. The annual donation will be made throughout the working life of the wind farm and we look forward to its continued success.”
Groups with community projects located within a 3km radius of the wind farm can apply.
