A Centre Fit For The Community

A Centre Fit For The Community

Thanks to The Whitemoss Community Fund, The Civic now has brand new facilities for its users.

The Civic was awarded £14,597 from The Fund which has been used to completely refurbish the toilet facilities.

The Civic has over 400 people through its doors every week and the previous facilities had not changed since the 60’s!  The new facilities include child-friendly toilets, a dedicated baby-changing area and a completely modernised accessible toilet.

Staff at The Civic said “Refurbishing the toilets has enabled us to fulfil one of our core values which is to ensure that The Civic is accessible for every member of our community. We now have the facilities to match this commitment.”

Rob Routledge, Chairman of the Whitemoss Community Fund Advisory Committee, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support yet another deserving project in West Lancashire. Since 2010 the Whitemoss Community Fund has donated £335,000 which has been shared between 29 local projects for the direct benefit of local residents.”

The Whitemoss Fund has over £50,000 available every year and groups can apply for amounts between £5,000 and £20,000.
